Stained Glass Windows
Mrs. Mathilda Kalfleish was born Mathilda Konrad, September 17, 1858 in Peru, Indiana. She married Dr. A. H. Kalfleish and moved to Mercedes after 1910. As a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she participated in The First Ladies Aid, enjoying the company of this group.
Church records show that she died May 7, 1925. Her family honored her wishes that stained glass windows would be installed in the new church that was being planned. This church was built and dedicated with the windows on June 9, 1929.
