BRIDGE OF HOPE AFRICAN MINISTRIES

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • We believe that there is one God, who has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross not only pays for our sins, but through faith in Him enables us to spend eternity with Him.
  • We believe it is our obligation as believers to proclaim and to witness to all mankind the truths contained within the Gospel, through aligning our word and deed to God's Word. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  •  The Scriptures speak to the fact that we are all God’s creation. Thus, we believe in the dignity of all people. (Colossians 1:16)
  • We believe that a common focus that should be among believers is to join together in caring for widows, orphans, and those in need. (James 1:27)

BRIDGE OF HOPE WEBSITE

Meet DCE Brenda Segovia

Mission and Ministry Facilitator with RioMAC

Brenda has just finished moving into the church parsonage and is very thankful for all the fine renovation work that went on this summer.

She has had a very busy summer. Brenda helped the children finish up the school year by leading devotions at our last day carnival event. Then she also helped lead  the Jr. High Crossroads event at Oasis Camp in La Feria, travelled to the LWML convention, helped out with VBS at Immanuel, St. Paul Harlingen, and Fishers of Men Port Isabel, helped lead a high school pool party event, and is currently participating in the Lutheran Encounter with Christ retreat.

It has been one of her biggest joys to serve as supervisor for DCE summer intern Krista Peña who is studying at Concordia, Austin. Krista has been her sidekick throughout the summer at all the youth related activities. Brenda has helped Krista lead special events such as ¨Where´s Waldo¨ at the Mercedes Outlet Mall, a youth beach hangout, and the upcoming Movie Night/devotion at her home.

We thank God for all the talents God has given to Brenda and Krista to train and raise up new leaders from among our young adults and youth!

Feel free to stop by and welcome her!! Just call her first to make sure this on the go servant of God is at home.
